Montessori
At Little Rascals, we have a bright and welcoming new Montessori room with three qualified Montessori directresses – Susanne, Orla and Amy.
Montessori classes are from 09:30 – 12:30 incorporating work-time, lunch time, book time, circle time and various activities.
Everything is at the child's level, including our kitchen and all the exercises are bright and attractive calling the child when he or she is at the sensitive period for that particular exercise. The Montessori method was devised by Dr. Maria Montessori who's methods and teaching aids refines the senses preparing the child for greater learning. Dr Montessori saw that in order to learn, they first must develop independence, which they achieve through our many practical life exercises. Their senses are developed through the use of our sensorial equipment and they are also introduced to mathematics, language and culture. Thus preparing them for school.

Our range of activities include music, drama, introduction to Irish, arts and crafts and cookery. Our children have access to our outdoor play area with slides, scooters, bicycles and other equipment to help develop their motor skills.
We send out a report every month to inform you of your child's activities, a sample of work completed and an update on coming activities.
